Since 2007, there have been 3,000 babies saved by Abortion Pill Reversal (APR). 


What is APR and how does it work? In short, it is progesterone, one of the hormones needed to keep the pregnancy viable. Essentially, it counteracts the effects of the first pill in the two pill abortion method. 


APR has a 64-68% success rate in saving these pregnancies, with no increased risk of defects or premature births.

Facts about the abortion pill

  • The abortion pill was approved by the FDA in 2000. Other names for the abortion pill are: medical abortion, medication abortion, and chemical abortion.
  • The abortion pill is actually two drugs and it's taken in two separate doses. One pill is taken at the abortion clinic and the other is taken at home.
  • The abortion pill is usually taken between 4-6 weeks of the pregnancy, but it can be taken up to 70 days after your last menstrual period in most cases. 
  • It can cost anywhere between $400-$900.
  • The abortion pill is not the same thing as an emergency contraceptive such as "the morning after pill".
  • It is not an option for people with certain medical conditions. 
  • The abortion pill is not available over the counter.
